Dscout XT is an optional add-on program that utilizes your Dscout browser extension to help unlock access to additional paid opportunities and, in some cases, help you skip applications so you can earn rewards even faster.
Let’s say researchers need participants who frequently fly Southwest Airlines or shop on Etsy. That information isn’t readily accessible in your Dscout account by default—but it can be with Dscout XT.
Note: Dscout XT requires you to have the Dscout browser extension, which works best on Chrome and Microsoft Edge. Dscout XT can be used on any Chromium-based browser, but there may be some missing functionality.
What do I get with Dscout XT?
With Dscout XT enabled, you unlock access to two new study types in Dscout:

Intercept studies: Paid opportunities that appear as you browse the web. These studies are typically short and intended to better understand your user experience in the moment. For more information, see Intercept studies FAQ.

Pre-matched studies: Additional Express missions we’ve pre-matched you with based on your XT data. For example, if a researcher needs Etsy shoppers and you’re an Etsy shopper, we’ll pre-match you. (Without Dscout XT, you wouldn’t see this study at all.)
More opportunities means more dollars in your pocket.
What data does Dscout XT collect?
By signing up for Dscout XT, you grant permission for the Dscout browser extension to collect the following data:
- URLs visited (including number of visits and the date/time of each visit).
- Search terms entered into your Chrome browser.
- Certain interactions on specific webpages (also called DOM events). For example, a study may be initiated if you click to open an AI chatbot.
Note: Dscout automatically deletes data from any sites we deem sensitive, private, or irrelevant to the research conducted on our platform. We also employ advanced techniques designed to minimize the collection of PII (personally identifiable information) like names, phone numbers, and passwords.
