# Streaming a mobile device to a desktop interview session

When participating in a desktop interview session, you may be asked to share your mobile phone screen to discuss a mobile app, phone behavior, or other mobile-related task; this is sometimes referred to as screencasting, screen mirroring, streaming, tethering, or Airplay (for iOS users only). Tap the device you'll be streaming from below to follow our instructions for sharing your phone screen in a desktop interview session!

### Mirror your iPhone to a computer (Airplay)

1. Connect your iPhone or iPad to the same Wi-Fi network as your Apple TV, AirPlay-compatible smart TV, or Mac.
2. Open Control Center:
   * On iPhone X or later: Swipe down from the upper-right corner of the screen.
   * On iPhone 8 or earlier or iOS 11 or earlier: Swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen.
3. Tap Screen Mirroring.
4. Select your computer from the list.
5. If an AirPlay passcode appears on your computer, enter the passcode on your iPhone.
6. Begin screensharing in your interview session; be sure to select the option to share your entire screen to ensure your Airplay screencast is captured!

*Disclaimer: Airplay permissions must be set to all users on the same network. (System Settings > General > AirDrop & Handoff > Allow AirPlay for: Anyone on the Same Network)*

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://participanthelp.dscout.com/interview-studies/interview-technical-requirements/streaming-a-mobile-device-to-a-desktop-interview-session.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
